What a joke- Babies R Us return policy.

A while back, I tried returning something bought off my registry- They wouldn't allow me because they told me that it was an item placed on my registry & then taken off (kind of as if I wanted to return an item without a receipt) I was beyond upset because it was a swing that my aunt bought me from that exact location. They INSISTED that it wasn't purchased off my registry. Whatever. I was MORTIFIED but got over it. I was stuck with a $135 Graco Swing. Oh well.

Now today, I tried returning something my mom bought my ds for Christmas. I HAD THE GIFT RECEIPT!!!!!!! They told me that I couldn't return it because that item had already been returned. Um... Am I missing something here? I had the item in front of them. I had the gift receipt.
For 45 min, I argued with the jackasses in customer service. They were talking to me as if I was a theif, like I was trying to steal something from them. All I wanted was a merchandise credit. I didn't even want money back!!!!!!!!!!! Even the people waiting on line was discusted with their policy. Everyone seemed to have an issue with them.

W T F is their problem??? They need to seriously rectify this BS because its not fair. The amount of money I spend in that place is insane. This is how they treat their customers?

I despise the new policy.

I had an issue returning a playmat after my shower with a gift reciept same like you did for the Christmas gift. They told me it was returned already. I was baffled, argued it & EVENTUALLY was able to get a credit. But this was April last year.


It would be nice if they could at least track your purchases like Target does so IF you need to return without a reciept they look it up!

2 issues.

My aunt bought me a bassinet off bru.com. Online exclusive. I try returning for store credit...never opened, shipping papers in my hand. They can't take it back. I have to pay to send it back, and then they will credit buyer's credit card! had to sell for 1/2 price on craigslist!

Bought the rainforest swing.
Broken. on my registry, had gift receipt, did not have box. They would not do a thing about it!

seriously, they're complacent becuase everyone reflexively goes to them to register for their showers.... so it doens't make a difference how they behave, the customers come anyway.

I detest them.... I try to never go there for anything.

their online site is annoying as well. I had an incident (trying to buy a few clothing items) that ended up with me having to call their 1-800 #. the stupid site kept emptying out my shopping cart while I was trying to check-out

they refused to let me return some pink BRU plastic spoons I received as a gift. couldn't even exchange them for blue.

they're @holes. I keep trying to encourage people to register at different stores....

i hate BRU.

but what probably happened was the person bought you the item at BRU and then returned it using their regular receipt since they found it cheaper somewhere else. since the gift receipt has the same numbers as the regular receipt, it's listed as returned.

i'll bet if you ask the person you got it from, they'll tell you they wound up getting it at BBB or target and figured you could just use the gift receipt.
