Im not trying to make you uncomfortable. Howevere it sounds to me like someone ringing the doorbell to see if you were home. I bet if the dog/lights etc did not go on the house would have been broken into.
Yeah, this is my thought as well. I know doorbells CAN malfunction, I just don't think this was the case. I have no evidence to prove otherwise, but this is what my gut is telling me.
Hopefully there wont be any other incidents. I will be sure to check with my neighbors when I see them. THanks!
