Re: Weight vent
Don't put so much pressure on yourself. What did the doctor say when you first went in?
I'm overweight to begin with and expecting twins. I was told I shouldn't gain more than 10/15 lbs during my pregnancy.
I was very sick the first and half of the second trimester that I lost 14 lbs. As soon as I hit my third trimester I gained 10 of that back -- and I'm not eating any differently.
It's that growing baby inside of you, so don't beat yourself up!

Re: Weight vent
Don't worry! I gained 75Ibs with my first! I still had 15 to lose and then got pregnant again! Don't worry...and I gained 16Ibs in a mth with my first too! Relax you will be fine I mean I didn't give birth and fit into a size two again. You have to totally work at it after you have your baby and you are healed! And the belly bandit worked great. I have to say I wore it for 4mths straight except when I showered and it really helped A LOT!
So again, don't worry I know it sux but you will be fine after you have the baby

You gain what your body needs to gain in order to sustain the pregnancy. You're growing a human being. So much of it comes off almost immediately. Don't sweat it.

Weight vent
Ten pounds in a month is a lot to gain but do not beat yourself up. Try to keep track of what you are eating and make healthy food choices. I find avoiding sodium is really important. My doctor is VERY strict about weight gain-- she does not believe that you gain what you need and I have had two discussions about weight gain (at 35 weeks I have gained 25 pounds) both a result of gaining more then a pound per week. One month I gained 6 pounds but the next month I did not gain anything. Just try to focus on being healthy.

Re: Weight vent
I gained 40lbs with both of my pregnancies. I'm trying to do better with this one and I'm up 10lbs at 22weeks so far. You get so hungry when your pregnant, it's hard not to gain. Don't worry too much about it. Just try to watch what you eat for now on. You can work on losing the weight after the baby comes.

Re: Weight vent
This happened to me with my first so I feel your pain. With my DS I was up 33lbs at 28weeks. I ended up gaining a total of 60lbs. The good news- my baby was born perfectly healthy AND I lost all the weight (plus an extra 10lbs) within 4 months.
Just do the best you can, eat the healthiest you can, and listen to your body.

Weight vent
I was just panicking the other day bc all the sudden I can't stop gaining. I had gained 12 pounds up to week 23.. then the last 3 week i put on another 9. I freaked out when I saw 200 on the scale bc that was my goal for the whole pregnancy.. A coworker told me she gained 35 pounds and after delivery and a month of nursing, she lost it all. In the following few months she actually dropped another 10. I've just been trying to give in to my cravings in the morning.. so at least I have the day to burn it off and be active.

Re: Weight vent
I gained 38 with my son, lost @ 5 the last week (you lose a few before birth). Then within a week or two of his birth lost another 20 ish--like it literally fell off. The last 10-12, those were work but with diet and exercise I lost it within a few months.
Our bodies will do what they need to for the baby and most of the weight does come off after on its own...some people have an even easier time than this but for me the last 10 were work but still not bad
eta: the doctor told me this time and last time he expects bw 25-35 and if I gain more that is fien by him but I might not like it I am at the higher end of "normal" weight for my height

Re: Weight vent
It just stinks I really wanted to stay under 35 pound gain this time. With my 1st dd I gained 50 and yes I lost 25 of it within the 1st month But I held onto the rest for over 2 years ( I wasn't tryin to loss it either though I was to wrapped up in my new baby that i didn't even realize the weight i had put on:( * I just lost it all plus some right before getting prego again. I wont lie im not being as good as I can be I know that but its still annoying to watch that number rise. I feel like the weeks I eat well the numbers still go up as much as when I eat whatever I want so its so discouraging.. I just have to go right back to my healthier ways after this baby is born and not continue the way I am now and hopefully I will get my old numbers back!! lol

Re: Weight vent
i've only gained 20 pounds (30 weeks) but I was 20 lbs overweight to begin with. Because of the gestational diabetes, my dietician told me I'm obese so that made me feel wonderful
take it with a grain of salt and don't beat yourself up over it. the weight will come off by itself and as long as you try

I used to do this. I told them to please not announce it and only address it with me if they saw an issue. They never said a word. I carried tiny but i know I gained a lot due to my fluid retention and swelling. It was all gone in 2 weeks. Not worth getting upset over. You have so much extra fluids going on while pregnant- it's not all fat that you are gaining As long as you are eating right, and not going buck wild with junk food etc- you will be fine.

Re: Weight vent
I am in the same boat. I am almost 31 weeks and I am up about 30-35 pounds, and I still have 10 weeks to go. As long as my doctor is not concerned about my weight, I won't be either. I am trying to snack a little healthier during the day and making sure to drink lots of water.

I gained over 40 lbs for all of my pregnancies. It honestly didn't matter if I ate sliced veggies all week or chocolate cupcakes - I always gained the same so I just stopped worrying about it and started enjoying

Re: Weight vent
I gain a lot with my pregnancies. I gained 80 lbs with my first which I did lose all of by 7 months. During that pregnancy i actually gained 15 lbs in one month!
My second pregancy I gained 60 lbs. I was upset about it but to some degree I did not have control over it so I stopped stressing. Just work on losing it after the baby comes.

Weight vent
Just do what you can. If the weight gain can be attributed to unhealthy choices and you are aware of it, try to make better choices. If you are making healthy choices and trying to stay active and are still putting on the weight, it's just your body doing what it needs to do! You are growing a human. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Re: Weight vent
Don't stress! You may not gain much more and if you do that's ok too! I gained about 50 lbs with my 1st and lost all of it within about 7-8 months. I gained 45 lbs with my 2nd and lost all of it within 5 months and even lost an additional 4-5 after that.
