weight gain in infant...
my ds was 9lbs 12oz at birth
at a 1.5 months he was 14lbs 6 oz.
is this normal? just curious to hear what your experience was/is!

Seems like a lot to me!
DD was born 7 lbs 1 oz, and gained about 2 lbs for the first few months, and then it slowed to 1 lb a month.
ETA DD is 8 months and probably about 17 lbs now! She was 14 lbs at like 6 months.

Usually babies will gain 1-2lbs a month. That seems like a lot to me, but you're doctor will tell you if there is an issue. DD gained 1 lb the first month, then 2, then 2.5, then .5, then 3 oz. It really can vary month to month.

My little girl was 8.4 lbs at birth (she was 2 weeks early) and at 10 weeks she weighs 14.2 and is in 3 to 6 month clothes. Your baby was a good size at birth so if your peditrician isn't worried I'm sure it's fine.

They want infants to gain 1-2 pounds a month. Yours gained just over 2 pounds a month, so that's not too strange. My DD gained over 2 lb her first month, and then less than a pound the month after that. It all evens out.

DS gained 4 lbs his first month, then two each month after (he is now 4 months.) No worries, he is 98th for height and weight. He is EBF. I'm sure his weight gain will slow down once he is mobile. He does go through clothes quickly though.

My ped said that the average weight gain should be 2lbs every months. My DS gained a lot in the beginning. He was born 9lbs 3oz, gained almost 4 pounds the first month and 3 pounds the second month. The doctor told us he hoped that the weight gain would slow down on its own, which it eventually did. That being said, DS' weight gain was proportionate with his length growth.

DS was 8 lbs 1 oz at birth. I think he left the hospital at 7 lbs 2 or 3 oz. At his 2 month appointment, he was 13 lbs 1 oz. That was his largest weight gain. It slowed down after that.

If he's EBF, then you can't be over feeding him, or at least that's what I've been told. BF babies can't be over fed. He'll prob gain a lot early and then slow down. That's what my DD did, and she started out big too.
