Week late and BFN

I am a week late now. I took a HPT on Sunday and got a BFN. I did not take it with FMU though, I thought by that time it would show up no matter what time of day I tested.
I have been under some stress because DH and I are trying to buy a house, what amount of stress causes a late or missed period? I am probably now causing myself more stress by worrying about it!!
Should I chalk this up to stress or test again? I don't really have any symptoms, I have just been crampy and kind of nauseous at times, like AF is coming.

Have you been charting? are you sure you are a week late? Are you usually fairly regular?

I find that i have a few periods a year that last 35+ days. I was using OPKs last month and i realized that i didnt ovulate until day 22 - so i was really not late at day 35, even though the cycle before that was only 29 days. You know what i mean?

If your normal cycle is 28 days - and you are now a week late from that, I certainly think that it could be the stress from buying a house. I would wait another week and if you still havent gotten a BFP - I would call your doc.

We thought we were a week late when we got the BFP & it turned out that I ovulated late that month.

Stress can indeed make your cycle change, as can the seasonal changes. When they both occur at the same time it is possible to throw your cycle off.
