Week 41 - Back from the Dr's
No further progress, no sign of contractions and get this, they did a sonogram and the baby is weighing in at 9lbs, 6oz!  Terrific now I'm petrified about size too b/c I figure the later the baby is the bigger it will get!

Remember sonos can be off!!
I am sure your doctor must have a plan of action. I am actually happily shocked to see a doctor that did not rush you into the OR yet. Don't worry the baby has to come out at some point

I've got another appt for Thurs. If nothing happens b4 then, they'll do another sono. She said if the baby has gotten bigger they'll book me. They didn't seem overly troubled by it. The tech told me it can be off by a pound in either direction.

I too am happy that they're not rushing to a c section b/c the idea scares me a little. I'm just a little overwelmed by the prospect of delivering a baby that size.

I am 1-2cm dialated and 80% effaced since last Thursday, but there was no change since then. They said I can go up to ten days past my due date b4 they will induce unless they see a problem in the tests, but so far the baby looks really good when they've monitored it.

I'm sorry you aren't futher along...Sending many labor vibes. On a postive note, a lot of times those sonos are off by a couple of lbs.

Hopefully it will be soon. My sono was off by 2 pounds, so dont get too stressed about size! It is great to see a Dr not rushing you to induction or c/s

Try not to worry they thought I was having a 10lber but he was an even 8lbs. Those #'s are usually off!!!

My daughter was estimated to be close to 9 lbs - she was 7 lbs 6 oz and 5 days late - I was induced. Its just a matter of days before you met your baby. Good luck.

Good luck!
I wouldn't go by the weight estimation too much, though. My friend was told her baby was 9.5lbs and he was born at 6.5lbs.

i am right there behind you!
i am 38 weeks 2 days and internal #3 reveals no progress. my cervix is completely shut. i have an appointment on friday, and if no change by then we'll schedule a c-section next week.
my dr. does not want me to go passed my due date. i have gestational diabetes so that plays into our decision as well.
my friend just delivered 12 days passed her due date. in her case she had no idea when she got preggo so her due date could have been way off. she was induced and then would up with an emergency c-section because her  was in distress due to the cord being stuck around his foot ...

So sorry you're not progressing either. I'll hope for some progress for you by Friday.

Try not to worry too much about the size...those sonos can be WAY off. They told me that the baby would HUGE...she was 6 lbs 15 oz!

i was told 8 lbs and i had a 9lb 13 0z baby dont go by what they say and i was late also. the baby will come when shes ready or with a little push.

Try not to worry. My first baby was 9 lbs 3 oz at 41 weeks and I delivered him vaginally with no problem. I dont know how flattering that sounds to me  but I do know lots of Moms with 9 lb + babies that have no problem with normal delivery at all. Just in case they are right about your baby being that big, I just wanted to assure you that its totally possible to have an easier time of it than you'd think. Good luck!
