Wedding gift for "non-traditional" couple?
DH and I want to buy a gift for a couple we're friends with. What should we give them?
Dating/involved on/off for 15+ years Two DCs together May-December relationship Spontaneously married last week - told us afterwards.
They're quite wealthy (have boat, own several businesses, vacation well) but I'm just not sure what to buy them. Gift card to dinner out isn't good because they own a restaurant. Should we give them cash?

How about a GC for a unique excusion like non-gravity yoga, or go-carts or hang-gliding or something?
I also like to give couples memberships to museums...Moma, the Met, etc.

Love the museum membership idea. If they're too trendy for that, a private food tasting or cooking lessons or wine tour might be nice.

Maybe a wine club, though if they owna restaurant, that might not excite them. They may already wel know the wines they prefer.
How about a gift certificate for something they can do together like
1) A couples massage 2) Dance lessons 3) SCUBA lessons (pricey) 4) Weekend getaway.
Maybe a travel gift certificate?

I would do something personalized, maybe with their wedding date on it. I like personalizationmall.com or thingsremembered.com

I would honestly give a check or a gift card to BBB or Macys. If I got someone something very unique, I'd be scared that it's not their thing and they wont use it. For instance, I would only give them a gc for a couples massage or a Broadway show if you know they like that stuff.

Someone posted on here (not sure when) about a vendor that will draw a portrait of your house and frame it. This might be something nice to do for them that they can display. Or a gift certificate for a family portrait session!

What about a wine of the month membership or a nice basket with wine/cheese/fruit/bread/meats in it. It is personal, can be as pricey as you want, and is something they can do together. You could include a throw that has the date of the wedding on it and a fun note saying here's all you need for an indoor picnic/date once the kids are a sleep. I would love something like that! Personal, fun, and not something we would do!

That's what I would suggest.
