Wedding dress code

We are going to a wedding in LA where the dress code is described as "Malibu cocktail chic" - what does that mean? Can I just wear the same thing I would wear to a regular cocktail-attire wedding?

Re: Wedding dress code

I cant see why not. It sounds like a fancy way of saying " dressy/but beached theme". LOL

Im sure you will not look out of place with a cocktail dress. Im sure there will be a variety of styles. Enjoy!

Wedding dress code

I'm thinking I have heard and seen of weddings in California where people show up in jeans. Ok, maybe not jeans but super u we casual. I'm thinking this is code for "don't dress down". "Wear a nice dress, suit or at least a suit jacket".

Thoughts on any of these dresses? The purple one looks better on than on the hanger, the skirt part is not as blousy as it appears on the hanger. The dark one is is a dark teal, but the pic isn't great. For whichever one you like best, how would you accessorize?

I'd say the second one. I was going to suggest something boldly patterned.
