We need to talk about Kevin

Anyone read this? I just finished it and am dying to talk about it with someone.

I saw the movie first and when I found out it was a book I read it. I went from hating the writing style to loving it and now wanting to read everything by Lionel Shriver!

I read it when it first came out and I loved it. I haven't really enjoyed any of Lionel Shrivers other books. They were just okay.

Re: We need to talk about Kevin

I loved how she described human interaction in such an insightful way. And there were times she pointed out absurdities of social interaction in hilarious ways. Was that just for this book because of Kevin? That's not her style?

No it's definitely her style... I just didn't feel it translated well in her other books. I haven't read them all, so maybe it works in some. I recently read Big Brother by her and was so disappointed.

Loved this book! I've read it three or four times. I hated the movie, def a disappointment after the book. Haven't read anything else because of mixed reviews

Yes! I just finished it. I am still not sure what I thought about the book as a whole. It made me mad, sad and even smile at certain points. I also really liked the way it ended. It's definitely a book that stuck with me for a while and kept me thinking.

I loved this book.

I've only read one other book by Lionel Shriver, "The Post-Birthday World," and I did not care for it at all. I found it very hard to get through. I would not recommend it.

How stupid was the dad through the whole thing???? I can't help but wonder if he was on the same page as the mom, would Kevin have gotten "better"?
