We found "the house" UPDATE!

We haven't been looking too long at all, but we have a great idea of what's out there and what we can get for our money.

We found a house that we both LOVE in Lindenhurst. We kept going over the pros and con (only 1 con- no bathroom upstairs where the Master bedroom is so we would eventually build one). We can't think of any other reason not to put an offer on this house. We're both in love with it and its all I can think about. The price is about 40k LOWER than what we expected to spend for a house like this.

I'm just hesitant because we've only been looking 2 weeks...what if we're jumping in too soon? There's another offer on the house so we don't have the luxury of waiting. It's so crazy and exciting!

We're both 99.9% leaning toward putting an offer down. My gut is telling us to put an offer on the house. I'm worried everyone (my parents who are very vocal in particular) will have stuff to say about buying after not looking enough. Both my parents saw the house and loved it though.

I'm just so confused!


UPDATE: First of all thank you for all the support! As I mentioned, we put our offer in and the seller came back with a counter offer which we accepted and are happy with.

The owner had previously agreed to a cash sale (if thats what you call it) with the buyers before us. She said they have until Feb. 10th to have the cash. So right now we're pretty much waiting until Feb. 10th to see what happens. I hope they either can't get the cash or back out!! The owner said she would rather sell it to us (she liked that we were a young couple looking to start a family). So fingers crossed!

i'd go for it. we found our house on the third time out. as long as your happy with the sd, taxes, etc-- do it!! you can keep looking too, until you go to contract.

You really can't know for sure there is another offer. Don't feel pressured. If you love it go for it! I feel like whatever is ment to be!

I lived in 2 apts in Lindy and that was where we really wanted to stay.....We put offers on a bunch of houses there and for various reasons they didnt work out.

FM me if you want any specific info....I can tell you about the specific neighborhood and such.

We ended up in Farmingdale but I still go to restaurants in Lindy and still get my nails done there.

we looked for a really long time and in the end, we went back to the original house that we both felt was right. We didn't want to rush but we almost lost the house which made us both realize how much we wanted it. If you both are in love with it and the only con is having to add in another bathroom, I say go for it!

good luck with whatever you decide....but if you love it, go for it...

maybe you can see a few more houses today before you make the decision?? if you see everything in the location/price range you are looking in and this is still "the one" than you have piece of mind to make the offer

go for it! we ended up buying the first house we saw, I looked at others but this one was perfect for us! (even though it's been a labor of love/hate doing all the interior work lol). good luck!!

i would definitely go for it! We got the first home we saw (even though we ended up getting it after looking for 3 months b/c we were thinking the same thing you were). Looking back, it was a wasted 3 months!!!!

I think it sounds like a great buy and Lindenhurst is a great area. And a little easier on your commute it sounds like. I don't think it's nuts to buy after 2 weeks. We bought the 5th house we looked at. 3rd house we looked at with our realtor (Beth ) and she found us a gem - when you know you know. I say go for it!!
