Kirsten Gillibrand and Cory Booker are two that I've seen fighting hard. It does seem not united, although Al Franken was on CNN the other day and he said they DID have a strategy but he couldn't share what it was.
I used to love Booker but I'm uneasy ever since the whole him voting against importing prescriptions thing. Especially since they make up his donors. I'll be following what he does closely.
I agree but right now I'm willing to put a stay on concerns if it means people with some power are fighting for our basic rights.
I can agree to that. I think he will be gearing up for a 2020 run. I just hope he acts in a way that wont bite him later (if he's taking big donations and voting down because of it) - I don't want the next dem candidate to be accused of Hillary -like political methods. I want our next person to be on the up & up.
What do you think? will he run in 2020?
I know you didn't ask my opinio but I don't think he will run in 2020. He's not ready and he has said he won't run. I think he needs more experience and he needs to become a heavy hitter on the bigger issues.
All opinions welcome, IMO.
I think he may run. Same with Schumer, and Gillibrand, and possibly even Warren. There are a lot of potentials. I adored Cory Booker before but am somewhat skeptical now for the reasons mentioned. I hope he can keep his nose clean and stay above the fray.
I think we need someone with some experience but not too much.
We need someone who will energize the middle of the country.
Too many people voted for Cheetoh because "he is not a politician."
Honestly - and here I might ruffle some feathers - people are not analytical enough, especially the ones who voted for Cheetoh.
I do see it on both sides, but I just saw more of a calculated effort to parse the pluses and minuses from people who voted Bernie/Hillary than those who voted Trump.
We need someone who can appeal to the sheep.
If we're being super analytical about our choices....
I want Gavin Newsom to run because I wanna stare at him for 4 years.

Me too. Because then you feel their true hearts were in it for all of our sakes and the greater good. I know obama needs a vacation but wouldn't it be nice to see Hillary and him at some protests? Speaking out? Then we would feel we were really all in this together and equal.
But I don't feel that way. So when I see Bernie out there in a winter coat with the protestors, it further affirms why I believe him. He's the real deal. He's speaking out on social media too. Zip from Hillary. And it's things like that - that's one of the reasons I'm confident with my voting choice.
She suffered an embarrassing loss to a lunatic and his cronies. I think putting herself out there would just create a distraction. I think she'd be vilified and mocked by the idiots who voted for him. She did send a tweet over the weekend so she's not completely silent. But she's a private citizen now. I do not expect her or fault her for not being out there.
I can respect how you feel. I know you're not alone in that thinking.

More than likely, if she jumped into the spotlight on this, a lot of trump supporters would just say it's her being a sore loser, and it proves that the outrage against the EO is just her being upset about losing.

I literally won't make it if he isn't impeached or otherwise removed from office like much sooner than that.
I also wanted to say Schumer finally made the following statement:
After the first week of the Trump presidency it’s clear our country is at a cross roads. when asked about the countries that are known to have terrorists ties are on the list now all of a sudden there is a 90 day vetting process.
No he isn't looking out for himself.

I am trying to understand how that relates to his campaign finance and loopholes. Apparently he can start accepting campaign donations now for 2020. There will be no transparency. He is selling out the presidency.

ETA: it was in the article klingklang posted earlier today- trial balloon for a coup.
On Inauguration Day, Trump apparently filed his candidacy for 2020. Beyond being unusual, this opens up the ability for him to start accepting “campaign contributions” right away. Given that a sizable fraction of the campaign funds from the previous cycle were paid directly to the Trump organization in exchange for building leases, etc., at inflated rates, you can assume that those campaign coffers are a mechanism by which US nationals can easily give cash bribes directly to Trump. Non-US nationals can, of course, continue to use Trump’s hotels and other businesses as a way to funnel money to him.

Spicer kept saying the majority of Americans are happy with the executive order. I'd love to see his source on that bc I highly suspect it's based on fb likes.

My mom is one of them (she voted for Clinton and is not on Facebook). She immigrated here from S.America before I was born and thinks the only good thing Trump has done so far is "put his foot down and tell the Middle East who is boss". She thinks theres nothing wrong w/ enforcing immigration laws when its clear the majority of terrorists hail from these 7 countries.
