depends on if it rains. If it is really hot, every day, if not every other day.

we have to sprinklers set to go off once a day i think its around 8pm.

We water the lawn about once a week-but for very long periods of time(like 45mins each zone). The idea being that infrequent and deep watering promotes deeper root systems and better growth. The recommendation is about 1" of water every week. You might want to measure how long it takes for your sprinklers to put out 1"-use tuna cans in different areas. Depending on on how much rain we get - but if it's been dry for a bit, like now...every other day on the even days - I think that's what Town of Brookhaven says - you aren't supposed to water everyday.
I know in the Village of Mineola if you water on the wrong day - (if your house is an even number you water on the even day) - you can get a ticket from the village if you are caught - my Mom's neighbor got 2.

at this time of year, our sprinklers go on every other day (unless it rains then the system shuts off until the next cycle). In July and August its every day.
they start at 2am and each zone goes for 15 mins at a time. this way when the sun comes up , the water has penetrated into the ground
