Water now gives me hearburn!!
Ugh... how am I supposed to increase my water intake when the heartburn kills me after I take just a sip??
I'm drinking other liquids, but it's not the same as water. I put lemon in it, but I still get the heartburn.
Any suggestions?

ugh i was wondering why everytime i drink water i get heartburn!!!
i thought it was just from whatever i ate earlier.. but i guess its from the water?
ill have to ask my doctor next week now.

ill have to ask my doctor next week now.
My DH looked at me like I have three heads when I told him I couldn't drink the water b/c of heartburn. lol He's been on me to drink the water since I had the pre-term labor contraction issue... I'm supposed to be drinking lots of water, but I can't! He can't understand how WATER can cause heartburn!

Lemon is acidic, so that may be making the heartburn worse...it may also be whatever you are eating before you drink water...or if you have an empty stomach that could give you heartburn too...
Drinking milk and taking Tums have helped me a lot with heartburn this pregnancy...

Thanks for the tips! Maybe it is the lemon in the water....
I'm going to experiment with plain ol' water!!!
Oh - forgot to mention - I'm also now on medicine that can cause heartburn, so I'm also taking Zantac 150... but still get the heartburn after the lemon water.

No prob! :) I had bad acid reflux prior to pregnancy, and its amazing how many things that you dont even think of can cause heartburn...but def try plain water...

Crushed ice! It seemed to help me when I was dealing with massive heartburn issues when I was pregnant.. That and Zantac 150...

can you do seltzer? sometimes some fizz helps.. even perrier or pellegrino..

I hope you feel better soon! Heartburn is the worst!
Also someone mentioned on this board not too long ago, chewing gum helps, and it works!
