Water breaking question
If your water breaks, it will keep trickling out, right?? Without giving too much detail and way TMI....last night I had a sudden gush (not a whole lot, about 1 tbsp or so) I freaked out and thought my water had broken. So I layed down, knowing that if it was my water, when I stood up 20 or so mins later, it would run out again....and nothing. And nothing since. I am still freaked out, but think it's safe to say that it wasn't my water considering it was at about 5pm yesterday and nothing since as well as no other signs of labor??

Re: Water breaking question
I think you should call your dr. Any kind of gush would concern me.

Re: Water breaking question
When mine broke, it was trickling out all day. I actually thought I was peeing myself. Went to dinner that night and after sitting for several hours, got up and had the big gush. I would def call your dr.

Re: Water breaking question
Mine started with a trickle. I thought I had wet myself and by the time I got to the bathroom, I felt a big gush. I agree with the PP, give your OB a call.

Re: Water breaking question
Mine broke at 3 PM - I felt it by my ribs and heard a pop - but I didn't have any leaking for 2 whole hours afterwards. The doctor said that the baby was holding it in, like a cork in a bottle. Then at about 5:00 I was sitting in a chair and felt a small puddle, called the doc, went to the hospital, and had no more "leaking" for hours.
So, depending on where the breakage is and where the baby is positioned, you may only have a little bit of leaking. But if your water breaks, your womb stops being a sterile environment for the baby and the doctors will really want the baby born within 24 hours. You have to call!
