"Washing" hands in the bathroom...
Not sure if it's just a guy thing, but I don't understand why some people go through the motions of turning on the faucet, and then just touching the water stream, almost as if it was literally boiling water. No soap, no actual rubbing of hands, just the tiniest amount of water, just enough to get the hands wet.
Meanwhile, I'm at the sink before them, doing my usual scrubbing, and they are "done" way before me.

It's not just a guy thing.
Some women are gross too. Lots of them.

Some people do that in public bathrooms to make it look like they are washing their hands to save face in front of others.
Because you know if they were in there alone, or at home, they wouldn't be washing their hands at all.

Re: "Washing" hands in the bathroom...
I don't use the soap in the work bathroom. It's antibacterial and makes my hands itch like crazy.
I do still scrub them under the water, for quite some time, then rub well with the paper towel. Of course once I get home, it's a thorough scrubbing with soap. After all, I've been on the LIRR and sometimes the subway too.
I do know of a few women who go thru the motions, not the action.

Yep I see it all the time and it's absolutely disgusting. So many people don't wash their hands after using the bathroom

That's a lot different. The physical act of rubbing your hands under water is very effective at cleaning, even without soap.
There is no contact with the two hands under the water in the cases I'm talking about.

Yup. The other day I was at the Walmart Neighborhood Market (the one with mainly groceries) on Hempstead Tpk. We went into the bathroom and there was a worker there. She used the bathroom and walked right out. Didn't bother to wash your hands or even pretend. So gross.

OMG and it's even worse for workers. Doesn't she ever remember reading the signs- Employees MUST wash hands before returning to work? Nasty
