Washing a rug
Well, it's a really long runner (i'd say it's about 5 feet long). I was walking down the hallway and the bottom of my glass cracked off. Chocolate milk EVERYWHERE!
Can I just throw it in my washing machine or should I bring it to the laundrymat?

Re: Washing a rug
If it fits ok in your washer I would just wash it.

Re: Washing a rug
Make sure there isn't a rubber-type bottom to it. If it's one of those white rubber bottomed rugs, you'll have a washer and dryer full of bits of that stuff.... (or so I've heard... )

My bathroom rug is like that and I wash it all the time and dry it too. No problems at all.

Same for me, I never had any problems with finding rubber pieces.

Re: Washing a rug
I had both experiences, one came out great, the other feel apart.
I would say if its new and the rubber on the bottom has no cracks in it, go ahead and put it in the washer.
I used a very delicate cycle as well.

It was an older rug with a cracked bottom. That must have been the problem. Good to know. I've been using our steam cleaner for most stuff since then.

That was prob the issue because that was the difference when it happened to me. The rug was already in bad shape underneath and I only made it worse! Rubber pieces all over, took two runs of my washer empty with just water to make sure it was all clean again. Wont do that again

Yep same here. MAke sure it's washable though alot of runners are not and in that case you have to call in a cleaning service to do it.
