Washers & Dryers?
What is the best brand from the last 5 years as far as W/D go? I'm talking the regular kind, not the front load one's. Also, what's the biggest size that they come in? Thanks!
Whirlpool - Super Capacity Kenmore - ???? Maytag - ???? GE - ?????

Re: Washers & Dryers?
We just got a GE Profile set this week and they are AMAAAAAZING!!! LOVE them!! It's a top loader washer that I swear, has the absolute largest capacity of any washer I looked it. It's HUUUGE! They dryer is also has HUGE capacity. They are beautiful machines and work wonderfully. There is NO agitator in the washer which is awesome!! It also has a Steam Clean function which is really nice! I got the set at Lowe's, with tax it came in just under $2K with free shipping, installation, and haul away of the old ones.
They both rated highly with Consumer Reports and with any customer reviews I read on various websites.
The model numbers are:
Washer - PTWN8050M0WW Dryer - PTDS850EM0WW

I wish we could afford those right now, but we can't.

Re: Washers & Dryers?
Have you tried Samsung? They are new to the washer/dryer market but made some good quality products that are affordable. They also have different product lines with prices that may work for you.
I think I paid about $1200 for my Samsung washer/dryer. It's not their top of the line, but works quite well.

Try the Whirlpool Cabrio. We got ours when the next model was arriving, so we got the older years model on clearance.

When I was looking around they did have less expensive models but you have to give a little on the capacity. If you're okay going smaller than there were a few models to choose from at a lower price point. Avoid the front loaders, they were SO much more money than the top loaders, even when the capacity was the same.
Before this set we had a very basic Whirlpool model and those lasted us almost 15 years! I've always done well with anything by Whirlpool or GE.
