Was anyone told "girl" before 20 weeks and it was a boy?
At 12 weeks, doc thought girl. Last week (17 wks) when i got into car accident and had the sono, doc there thought girl. But everyone is telling me boy b/c of how I'm carrying...(what does that even mean? Like, low...or just b/c my face hasn't changed YET). So if this is a boy, I am hoping this doesn't mean he has "peesh" issues. I can't help it; I wonder if this happened to anyone?!

we're team green but I was told I was carrying boy-like (pointy stomach) up until 18 weeks, now everyone swears its a girl (rounder stomach)
but my face hasnt changed- someone at a funeral last week told me "you havent been hit by the ugly stick- must be a boy"
i swear its all made up crap anyhow

My understanding is it's a lot more common to make the mistake of calling boy when it's really a girl earlier on.
How you're carrying having anything to do with the gender is an old wives tale, as much as m/s and heartrate. I'd trust what they told you.

Re: Was anyone told "girl" before 20 weeks and it was a boy?
I had a sono at 17 weeks and was told boy. ds was born a few months later.
My friend had her sono also at 17 weeks and was told girl - she had a dd a few months later too.
I think by 17 weeks its pretty accurate although they can make mistakes. My sister had 3 girls already and was pregnant with her 4th baby. The tech told her she was having another girl at her 20 week sono. She had to have another sono closer to the end of her pregnancy and found out it the girl was really a boy!
so yea im sure there can be mistakes.
BTW my nephew is 6 years old if that makes a difference. (not that long ago)
Good luck!!!

I was told at 12/13 weeks. And she is! The way you're carrying has nothing to do with it - it's an old wives tale.

both my sister and SIL were told but when they were and I'm going to the same doc so I'm not sure I am going to put a HUGE amount of faith in her
she is a phenomenal doc but apparently awful at determining sex!
what does your instiinct say?

I would go more based on what the drs have told you from the sonos than from the old wives tales

ITA! My SIL had a boy for her first, and she carried how everyone says a boy carries. She had a girl for her second and she carried like every says she should with a boy! I would go by what the Drs. tell you. However, boht my SIL's and my MIL say that the boy heart beats sound like a washing machine and a girls sounds like galloping. One of my babies sounds like a washing machine. That one is a boy. the other sounds like galloping and they are 95% sure it's a girl.

You can't tell by looks or your body..everyone is different and carries different..it doesn't mean anything..go by what they see on the sonogram!

I was told girl at 12 weeks and again at 17 and confirmed at 21 and then delivered a baby girl! If they tell you that early their pretty sure! That's just my experience but I seem to be an expert at guesses if you want me to take a crack at it?! Lol

EVERYONE told me I was having a boy. They said I was carrying very low, and my face did not change. I was shocked when the Dr said girl.

Re: Was anyone told "girl" before 20 weeks and it was a boy?
At 17 weeks, they should be able to tell pretty well by ultrasound.
I look like I'm carrying a girl by belly & face (thanks a lot people!). People are so insistent... they ask me if I'm sure.
It's def. a boy. I've see more "third leg" ultrasounds than I ever could have imagined.
Old wife's tales are just that...
