Warning: REALLY dumb ttc question
Ok, please forgive me if this sounds like the most ridiculous question you've ever heard:
I know that after BD, you can increase your chances by lifting your butt in order to ::ahem:: "aid" your chance of conceiving...
...well, there's no tactful way to ask this, so I'm just going to come out with it: How do you clean up? Let's say you BD before you go to sleep...do you just stay that way till the morning? I usually find myself running to the bathroom after about 10 minutes so I can clean up!
Sorry--I know it's a ridiculous question.

Not a ridiculous question...
I try to pee before BD-ing...I know, talk about planning, but it helps me avoid feeling as if I have to run and pee right after. I just lay on my back w/ my legs up for a few minutes, then lay on my back for 20 minutes. I try to keep a towel nearby that I can lay on to avoid getting the sheets all messed up.....we have tons of towels so I have a supply that I use for BD-ing purposes LOL.....and yes, I wash them each time!!!

NOT a ridiculous question. In fact, I was wondering the same thing, so I'm glad you asked! I always run to the bathroom right after and I feel like everything "comes out" (sorry TMI!!) I'm wondering what everyone else does right after. This month I tried to keep my hips elevated for 20 minutes after, then I ran to the bathroom anyway!

See, that's exactly what I mean! I'm good to just kinda relax there for a little while...but then, what if I want to go to sleep? I just have to let it stew for like, 8 hours??!!

I'm sorry, maybe this is me being naive, but what do you mean "clean up?" We BD before bed, and I just go to sleep afterwards. Any "leftovers" in the morning are taken care of in the shower.

I find there to be a lot of "dripping "once Dh is finished. So thats why we use the towel to clean any "excess" up. I stay laying down the whole time with my butt elevated by a pillow. After about 15 mintues I will go to the bathroom to clean anything else up

First the fluid that enters you liquifies and the sperm gets to the cervix almost instantly. Whatever comes out is probably the weaker sperm that couldn't make it and semen. You really don't have to lay down after....I do more out of hab it than anything so I would not worry about it. As far as clean up I use a towel or toilet paper

Not ridiculous....my hubby says do you want me to get you a washcloth while I am up.....very romantic. Anyway just stay lying on your back, hips elevated about twenty minutes, then "clean up".

I had a friend that literally stood on her head after BDing!!! Apparently it worked bc she has two little one's 
I know it's sounds bad but I kinda get grossed out and want to run to the bathroom after BD. Maybe DH is a stallion bc it comes back out like raging rapids! OK TMI sorry.
Seriously though one of the early posters is correct. The swimmer sperm go right to the cervex at ejaculation. What comes out is bascially just left over seminal fluid.

Umm kinda gross but one time I didn't clean up before I fell asleep and I had the NASTIEST yeast infection a few days later.. Always clean up. I go to the bathroom and pee and wipe up after 20 minutes. Groooooooosssss

Yep, that's what I read. It has no bearing on you conceiving.

I tried that with both my kids. It never worked-lol!! The 2 times I got pg was just bding and not worrying about putting my legs and went on my way!
