Warming up a bottle while out

We are now using rtf formula. I have a great munchkin cooler bottle bag, but how do I warm up the bottles when we're out and about. Do I need to warm them? Lo actually does take a cold bottl sometimes and she's not picky...

It was so much easier with the powder and carrying a bottle of Poland spring but it was so foamy and bubbly when mixed and lo def does better on the rtf.

What did you all do?

I carry around a cup and I ask for some hot water at places. Fr example if I'm in target I go to the Starbucks and ask them to fill the cup with hot water.

This is the main reason we stick with the powder!!!! Always at room temp.

I do believe they make a bottle warmer with a car adapter, you could look into that.

When I knew I was going out, I would boil water then put it in a thermos and bring a large cup that the bottle fits into when the water is in it and warm the bottle that way. Or went in a bathroom and ran the hot water over the bottle.

I have twins & have NEVER HEATED A BOTTLE. My twins are now 22 months & have always drank cold milk (RTF) or powder formula.
I didnt want them to get used to warm milk. If you start now, it will have to continue when they get older. When they start talking, it could be difficult. I have seen kids complain milk not warm enough. I didnt want to go that route.

This is why we switched to powdered very early on. It was too much of a hassle to have to warm bottles. We just use room temp water.

I always ask for a glass/pitcher of hot water. Everyone is aways understanding and never gives me a problem.

If youre using RTF it should already be at room temp. We used RTF and it is already at room temp, no need to heat up. We just stuck a couple of 8oz RTF bottles in the diaper bag and were good to go, just poured it into the bottle and that was it. To me, that was the huge benefit to RTF.

We only heat a bottle if its been in the fridge and its just to get the chill out. Ask for a cup of hot water or go to bathroom and run it under hot water.

DS will drink it however. He prefers it warm so it just takes him a bit to get in to it when it is cold. If we're out I will take it out of the bag 10 minutes or so before he is set to eat to let it warm up a little.

I keep a stash of the 8oz RTF bottles for when we're out, that way I don't need to worry about warming the bottle.

We use the powder because of this reason however if I have something in the fridge and need to warm it up I just run the bottle under hot water in a sink. It takes a little while which s*cks when your LO is screaming for a bottle but our DS spits up ever since he was born if the bottle is too cold.

I give it to my dd cold. Ive always used strictly rtf and ive never had an issue while out. Its really not a big deal if baby is not picky which you said yours is not.

I had all kinds of contraptions for warming bottles. There were "on the go" warmers, that you could just activate and wrap around the bottle and it warms it. I never had the car warmer. I'd also ask for a cup of water from restaurants, etc and never had a problem. DD#1 liked her bottles warm but did outgrow it before a year old. I think she just digested it better when she was an infant. DD#2 HATED warm bottles...so that was easy...she got them ice cold, lucky for us, because she too was on special formula (Elecare) til she was 2.5. For you, if you can't warm the bottle, I'd go with the 8oz RTF and then keep the remaining 4oz cold til you get home, where you can warm it more easily.
