Waking up WAY to early, what do we do?

Please help us.

For the month, Ava has been waking up at 5 Am every morning. DH (even though I tell him not to) gets her and puts her on the couch and puts the TV on for her. Then goes back to bed. She ususally will watch TV for an hour till we get up. I hate doign that, but we hate hearing her cry and we can't seem to get out of bed. Anyway for teh last few days she wants us to stay up with her and hold her...

I swear, it is like an internal clock. Every day at 5:50... She screams couch.

I want to let her CIO like we did at night and it worked. Do you think 5:50 is unreasonable to let her CIO becuase it is too early to get up? I feel selfish.

She naps for only an hour a day and won't nap in her crib only stroller if I take her for a walk or if I am home on the couch.

We are at our wits end. What shoudl we do. She is just 3 monhts over 2 years old. Did anyone else go trough this? She use to sleep till 8:30... We are not use to this...

Please help.
TIA,
Denise

DS did that too for a while and then it just stopped. Then it started again this morning. I was going to let him CIO but he was so loud that I didn't want him to wake DD b/c she started to stir. I brought him into bed with us (which I hate doing) but he never even went to sleep. I brought him down at 6:30am when DH was leaving for work and the put him down for a nap at 8 and it took him an hour to fall asleep. He was so tired and I wasn't giving in. I do notice he gets up earlier when he doesn't nap well the day before. Yesterday he didn't sleep at all durning the day. How are her naps? I don't see a problem with putting the tv on but I wouldn't leave her in the livingroom alone. Maybe one of you can lay on the couch with her?

Hi,

Thank you so much for your response. Well, that is the thing, I have been on this work out kick where I put her in the stroller and go for a walk. That is when she usually naps. I am thinking maybe she is not napping soundly enough... Well, she is napping now (on the couch, of course) lets see what happens tomorrow. But I find that too, when they miss naps, they get overtired and then get up EARLY.

Re: leaving her in the living room, our house is REALLY small. I can hear a pin drop from our bedroom..

Today I layed on the couch with her. I will let you know how tomorrow morning goes. Thank you so much.

Denise
PS> I woudl give anything at this point for another 40 minutes and for her to sleep till 6:30.. 5 anything is just ungodly! LOL
