Visiting Boston - help

We are leaving for Boston this weekend. We have ideas of what we want to do and what to see, but I need help with planning out the day. Those who really know Boston can you help plan the day!! Chat Icon

We get there Sunday and have reservation at the CHart House restaurant. Since it's Christmas everything will pretty much be closed so check in, maybe indoor swimming with the kids then get ready for dinner.

We have Monday and Tuesday and heading home Wednesday afternoon.

THis is what we hope to do -
Museum of Science
Sam Adams Brewery Tour
Boston Tea Party Museum
USS COnstitution Museum

These are maybe's-
Aquarium - since we've been to the one a few times in S Jersey we're ok with missing
Children's museum - not sure if it's too baby'ish for the kids 7 and 5.
Library

Any ideas? What's definitely worth seeing. We are going with friends who's kids are also the same age. What's close to each other?
Thanks!!

Children's Museum will likely be too "young" for them. DD was 7 when we were there and I researched it and decided to skip it.

If any of the kids are into penguins I would do the aquarium- they have lots of them and they are fun to watch. They also have an IMAX theater- DD and I saw a great movie. While it's a little outdated, they have a huge tank in the middle with a ramp and you can walk up to the top and look in from there. It's kind of unique, or it was to us. We had a great time and she still talks about it so maybe reconsider.

We loved the Museum of Science and at the time there was a Magic Tree House planetarium show which I recommend if they still have it.

I was surprised that DD enjoyed the Museum of Fine Arts. Not sure it's overly kid friendly- her teacher at the time was incorporating a lot of art so I am not sure if she would otherwise have liked it so much. But it's an amazing museum.

Thank you! Anything close to each other that we can do in a day?

The science museum and the USS Constitution are near each other (relatively) so I would plan them together.

The tea party museum and the children's museum is right next to each other. I love the Boston Children's museum. best I have ever been to. First time I went I was in 3rd grade and my sister was in 6th and we were not too old. When I worked in Boston my company had a holiday party there and we were all having a ball!

Brewery will be fun for adults not for kids really though. I have never been to the library in Boston and not sure I would make it a must do.

The Aquarium is fine but not the best IMO.

I would try to add in the maparium http://www.marybakereddylibrary.org/project/mapparium/
