Re: VIctoria's secret

it would have to be so horribe and a lot of money for me to return it, and even then, I still would consider not doing it.

If it is in fact true, I would reconsider ever buying anything from there, because how can you be sure they don't put it back on the shelf? even washing it would not be enough for me, a bra maybe, but NEVER a pair of underwear!! yuck!!!

Re: VIctoria's secret

I might return a bra. Sometimes you can't tell how comfortable something is until you wear it for a while.

Panties....no!

Re: VIctoria's secret

I wore a pair of pants from there for about 2 months.
During that time I proably wore them a handful of times and washed them a few times.
They faded and shrunk SO bad and they were NOT cheap
I called up VS and they told me to send them back and they would gladly refund my money and they also sent me a gift certificate for my trouble and shipping charges etc.

In that case- when it's a quality issue and the clothing is not holding up as it should then yes.

Underwear - no way. I'm not sending my used panties back to anyone! Chat Icon

However, they aren't going to resell anything that has been worn...just toss it. They are doing it as a courtesy to the customer.

YES I used to work there..girls would literally bring back white bras that were yellow witht the underwire coming out..these bras would be like 5 years old and we had to take them back! We used to pick them up with the paper they wrap the stuff you are buying up in..and we always did it in front of the customer..GROSS!

Worse than that was when I worked in a dept store and we had to take back toilet seats that were clearly used and pillows with (gag) hairs on them.

That job was enough to make my skin crawl!

Re: VIctoria's secret

I guess I would return something if it was actually uncomfortable and I couldn't wear it... I mean if it's allowed, then why not?! Chat Icon But, I really do hope they send the returned stuff back to the factory or something! Chat Icon

If you think about it, people can totally take advantage of that policy! A lot of what they sell could be a "one time use" item ... ya know?

Re: VIctoria's secret

I am pretty sure they changed that policy because I had tried to return something that the wire came through, (not worn enough to be falling apart) and they wouldn't take it back

Underwear never, and I've had a few of the lacy ones rip, just threw them away.

I had the underwire come out of 2 bras from there, and one time it was while I was wearing it and it pressed into my skin ouch!!
I went to the store and I asked them if I could have them replaced, if they weren't so pricey I might not have cared. Luckily the manager let me replace them.

Re: VIctoria's secret

just b/c they take underware back...does mean they resell it

when I worked at a ski shop we couldn't take long underware back b/c of a NYS law

so I doubt they reticket used underware and sell it- they probably throw it away or send back to the distribution center

Re: VIctoria's secret

I use to work there as a manager and while they do allow you to return them they also have a special procedure to dispose of them. They don't resell them.

I've gotten tops from VS that had deodorant stains and smelled of "perfume". Of course I returned the items immediately. I don't think their clothes are of quality and so I don't order from them anymore.

Bumping because The Today Show is doing a segment on this today.

It's an EYE OPENER.

So many stores retag the merchandise and put it back on the floor.

A few stores they mentioned were

Bloomingdales
Victoria's Secret
Macys
Nordstroms.

They were talking to a girl that worked for V.S. and she said she's seen workers "air out" returned items that had an order to them before returning them to the floor to re-sell.

Re: VIctoria's secret

My sister used to work there. They take absolutely EVERYTHING back, even if they no longer sell it (As in it's from a previous season). No receipt needed.

I have no idea what they do with the worn items Chat Icon I have returned underwear there but NEVER if I have worn it!

Re: VIctoria's secret

I'm glad I came across this post. I bought a bra from VS a while ago and never wore it. It was sitting in my closet in the same bag i brought it home in.
I tried to return it. All tags attached never even tried it on.
Apparently who ever put it in a bag for me did it a wrong way and one of the cups has a dent in it.
The VS would nto take it back. I had to fight with store manager and they would still not accept it.
Now I will try again...
