Venue for 40th Anniversary Party
Hi All -
My siblings and I are planning a surprise 40th anniversary party for our parents. We are aiming for April 9th, which would be a Saturday night.
I would really prefer to have it at a venue/restaurant, all inclusive because it's a lot more convenient, but cost wise, I'm not sure if its even possible, especially for a Saturday night.
We would like stay around 20 a head (I know - totally not going to happen). We're planning on about 60-70 people.
In your experience, did you find having a party at a VFW, KOC etc. to be more cost efficient? Or did you end up spending about the same as you would a venue since mostly everything needs to be bought separately?
I would really appreciate any recommendations, past experiences etc. for both affordable venues as well as VFW's, KOCs and what they included.
If you prefer to FM, please feel free. Also, would like to stay in Suffolk since majority of family and friends live there.
ps - anyone ever been to macconi manor? I pass it all the time - just have never been.

Re: Venue for 40th Anniversary Party
We had a 60th birthday party for my dad at Lombardi's on the Sound in Port Jeff and it was beautiful there, but we spent more than $20 a head. We had open bar, passed appetizers and a sit down dinner.
You can try Snapper Inn in Oakdale, it is again more than $20 a head but I don't think that much more.

Re: Venue for 40th Anniversary Party
Thank you for the recs!
My sis in law had her shower at Snappers and it was $$$ from what I understand. I will call though.
we would be willing to spend more if it included everything. We want to put in about 1k each, so 3k total.
I called Shandon Court in EI. They were 31pp plus 13 extra for beer and wine. 44pp plus grat and tax. so total would be 3441, 1150 for each of us. But we also need to get a DJ...This is doable but I want to find some other places that may be cheaper.
any other recs? Please help me, lol. I've only had stuff at my house in the backyard so I am starting at 0. April will be too cold for a backyard party.
I am also open to VFW type place - but feel like we would end up spending around the same after all is said and done. How much is it usually to rent?

Went here not long ago and it was great.
Also a nice venue for that type of party.
