Vent
I know this is a popular vent... but I really hate that people can't bother to RSVP. With facebook (you are already on it 24/7 and I can see your activity) and the ease of a quick e-mail or text... I don't get why it is so hard for people. My date is up and yet 60 people still didn't reply.
So then, you go to follow-up with these 60 people who don't respond and I can't stand the "maybes" "maybe i will maybe i won't" what does that mean? make up your mind! and also "yes i will be coming" (well then why couldnt you let me know?)
next time my invite is going to say... rsvp by (Date goes here). if i don't hear from you- don't bother showing up- you're uninvited!!! LOL

Vent
I hate when people don't RSVP, but I also am guilty of doing it. If I don't RSVP within the first few days of receiving the invite, I forget all about it!

Same here. This post made me realize I forgot to RSVP to a party that happened a week and a half ago

Re: Vent
If someone forgets to RSVP that is one thing. But who the hells says "maybe"? Either you are or you aren't. If you can't give me a definite yes that makes me think you are waiting for something better to come along and I would probably say don't bother.

i got 4 of those! and it was basically if something better is happening. i didnt have the guts to say dont bother but i was like well i want a yes or no by the weekend... they should just decide whether they want that day open for options or if they want to make a commitment. i dont do maybes!!!!

i just had the same problem with the kids in my dd class for her bday party. out of 18, 4 rsvp on time (2 im freinds with the moms) 1 yes was a day late and 2 no was 3 days late. so out of 18 only 7 rsvp! i feel bad for my dd cuz there is gonna be no one at her party :(

Re: Vent
I had this problem with my DD who turned 6 today. I sent out invites about 5 weeks ago, all but one mom are SAHM. The one mom of one of the girls has a nanny who drives. So I scheduled the party for this morning at my house. I invited 9 girls, 1 RSVP'd no, 3 yes, 1 no yesterday at 5pm and the rest nothing. One yes turned into a cancelation because all 3 of her kids have Coxsackie. My daughter was so upset yesterday and then last night I was crying because I hate that I have to explain disappointment to a 6 year old. It all did work out because she had fun with her BFF's that came.
I am done with school parties though.

Re: Vent
I can't believe what a small turnout some of you have mentioned. It's better to have a small party with your LO's best friends rather than a big one with people who obviously don't want to be there though. I guess I know from now on. This is DD's 1st birthday. We invited 110 people and so far we only have 25 yes and 50 still haven't responded or said "maybe" which to me is probably a lame no. for her 2nd and onward birthdays im only going to invite a very few people.

Re: Vent
It's so annoying especially when its family members! We're having DD's christening and are still waiting for a majority of family members to RSVP. Just tell me yes or no. I even made it easier by including my email address. Everyone nowadays is on their phone constantly, why can't they just send the email saying yes or no!?

Re: Vent
It's rude and I hate chasing down people. It's either a yes or a no. It's really not that hard. Phone, Text, Email, Facebook. It takes 2 seconds!
I like your idea of "If I don't know by this date, then, don't bother"! LOL
