I posted recently asking about this but went today and confirmed my DD does have a UTI.

She is 2 and has had no symptoms other than just pulling at her diaper. It has been going on for a few weeks so I just made an appt to be sure. They tested in the office and it was positive. My husband brought the sample back in so I wasn't there but the doctor had him bring it right over to the lab at the hospital. He said the numbers were pretty significant? I guess he wants a culture? Would he be testing for anything else?

They started her on an anitbiotic but we won't hear back the results for a few days.

She isn't potty trained so they did the bag, which was a disaster and she did not go for like 3 hours and then finally did and it went everywhere so we only got a small sample in the bag. Do they test again to make sure it is gone?? I am hoping we don't have to have a catheter.

I'm not sure what I'm asking but just wondering if anyone has had experience with a toddler and UTIs and if you knew how to they tell if it has spread to the kidneys, etc. I feel bad bc it has been going on for weeks but she hasn't had any fever or anything.

Any input would be great!
