UPDATED w/ some revisions - here is everything for my bedroom redo.......

So after taking some advice on here, I kept the orange paint, but toned it down to a shade with more brown in it. I changed the rug to a neutral color, the nightstands to white, and added a chair with a mirror.

Now what do you think?

I LOVE the duvet! Where did you find that? I think it will be very pretty when it's finished..it looks like you've chosen everything very carefully..please continue to post pics!

I really like everything except for the wall color. The bedding looks more reddish and the paint looks orange. Love what you did with your DS's room, so can't wait to see how this turns out!

What kind of floors do you have? I love everything, but the area rug. I guess it might be different in person but I like a contrast in color (darker bedspread, lighter rug but thats just my personal opinion). I mean if your floors are light then it might be fine.

I love that decal and I think it goes great with your bedding!

Very Warm colors, beautiful! I might go with a more nuetral color for the rug though to brighten it up.

OMG I love it. See it all came together. I love putting it all together in one place and you can see if you really love it or not. Love that decal with the bedding. Can't wait to see it all done. What color is the paint by the way? So is this a project you will be working on soon? Can't wait to see it.

Thanks Jen- its Persimmon Spice, I forgot by who, I have to check. Im between that and BM Spiced Cider. Im going to wait until the bedding comes in to make the final call on the specific orange paint.

I LOVE the decal, thanks! Its from etsy vendor vinyl fruit.

Ill probably do the room in February-ish, itll be my winter project.

Very nice ! I love, love, love when people take chances, I tend to always stay "safe" and i ALWAYS get bored with a room super fast. This is a room you can appreciate for a long long time :) GL and post pics !

I have SW Spiced Cider in my kitchen...

I have mustard yellow accents. LOVE those two colors together. Just throwing that out there if you wanted to add another color. Like small vases, or pic frames or something.

I think your scheme is perfect!!! I'm so excited to see your finished product... Seriously - you and Jen have gorgeous taste. I love both of your thought processes - the way you guys put everything together. If you guys did go into business together (and I know you were just being funny) - I'd be your first customer. Seriously - I am doing our LR and our office next and I would love to kick some ideas around with you two.

I never go by the color wheel, if you went with complimentary colors on the color wheel, Id have a blue and orange, yellow and purple and red and green rooms. I prefer to go with adjacent colors as long as they dont have the same intensity.

Thanks, I love the orange and red together. As for the nightstands...I was JUST thinking about getting them in white to break up the color palette more.

I just go with colors I love together. I'm right there with you.

I love the idea of the nightstands being white. Can you get the decal over the bed in white also? I think that would really bring the room together. Lighter, but warm and cozy BR. With the white curtains too, I think it would look really gorgeous. I love white as an accent color in a darker color room scheme.

White it is then for the nightstands. Unfortunately, Ive already ordered the decal in the brown. My fear is, if I got with a really soft orange, it will get lost on it if it were in white, KWIM, it would lose the pop.

completely understand if you go with the really soft orange than the white decal would be lost. good choice with the brown than. Nice!

I like everything except the paint-are you worried about the stimulating effects of those colors? In a LR I think it would be fine but not sure about a bedroom
