Re: for those that had spotting

call the doc and let him/her know about the spotting.

my instances of spotting were limited to twice on one day and once on another day.

stay calm though - many women spot or bleed through their entire pregnancy...but please, call the doc!

Re: for those that had spotting

I had spotting for 2 days during my 7th week, I called and the Dr had me come in to check my hormone levels (I had to go in every other day for a week)

It is common to have spotting, but it is also scary and nerve wracking, I would call your Dr. if you are concerned and see if s/he will have you come in to check your levels.
The first 3 months of PG are really scary, your Dr is there for your support, don't feel like calling would be a bother to them or that it makes you a nervous nelly.

if you are spotting and worried - CALL THE DOC. If they say, why are you calling, you say - because i'm spotting and scared.

I'm sorry you weren't treated very nicely by your doctor - would you consider changing??? This doctor is going to be your mental relief for the next 9 months - you should NEVER feel like you can't call...

Re: for those that had spotting

I know in my practice, the Dr. doesn't usually call back until the end of the day, unless it's a dire emergency (like full on bleeding/cramping/water breaking, etc.) Typically for any issues/concerns I have, I have to call the nurses triage line. They're pretty good and if they think it's an emergent situation they will have me come right in, or send me directly to Labor and Delivery. Earlier in my pregnancy they would have me come in. For example, I had full on bleeding (not spotting) at 12 weeks, so they got me in to see the Dr. right away.

Re: for those that had spotting

I had spotting in my first pregnancy that lasted about 3 days. If you haven't heard from the doctor, don't feel bad calling back if you're still really worried. Chat Icon

Re: for those that had spotting

I had spotting a couple times throughout my first trimester. I know people that had daily spotting throughout their WHOLE first trimester and had a healthy baby. Don't stress too much (easier said than done Chat Icon ) and see what the doctor says.
