UPDATED --No Sonogram Picture
I had my first sonogram yesterday at 6 1/2 weeks. So far everything looks good. We saw the heartbeat which was wonderful. But when we were all done I asked for my printout of the pictures and the technician told me, "Oh, we don't do that here."
I'm so upset. I have been feeling miserable this week. MS all day everday and the highlight of my week was the though of having this first picture of our baby. Has anyone ever heard of a place not giving out pictures? I never even thought to ask. Just assumed I would get a copy to take home. Its just such a letdown.
UPDATE: DH is the best. He called the central number for all the offices and told them how upset we were that we didn't get a picture. A supervisor called him back and apologized and we picked up our picture this afternoon.

I have my first sono tomorrow...I hope they give me a picture. I'll also be so upset if they don't.

Oh I am sorry..that doesn't seem right?? What mommy would not want a pic of their baby??

I had the sonogram done at Zwanger Perisi Radiology in West Islip. They have offices all over and were recommended by my doctor's office. My insurance doesn't cover sonos in office so I had to use an outside radiology place. Needless to say I won't be going back.
Can anyone recommend a radiology place that does give you a picture to take home?

Check with your ob. They may have sent him a copy to put in your record.

I had mine done at Beth Israel, and they did give me a couple pictures during my first sono at 6 weeks. Honestly, there wasn't a lot to see at that stage, it was hard for me to even remember where the baby was later, but I would have been disappointed too if I wasn't offered any.

Awwww That is just wrong...I would talk to your doctor and maybe go to another place...I would have asked him...what do you mean you don't do this here? They have to print out the pics for the doctor's file anyway...jerk...whoever that technician was

That part is so ridiculous!!!
Anyway, I am not crazy about the ones that the tech. at my doctors office gives and but at least she gives me a bunch!! She didn't want to give me one with the baby's PP after we found out the sex. I so totally wanted it!!!

Yes, that actually happened to me at my Level II at an imaging facility. They said their machine didn't generate them (total lie because I know the girl was just so backed up and there was no film in it) so I feel your pain.
I am glad your DH got one for you!
