I am writing a paper for my Sales and Promotion class that I am taking, and I need to ask a few people that were born between 1965 and 1982 a few questions. If you were born between those years, can you please answer the following questions? You don't have to write long paragraphs.

The paper I am writing is based on a Consumer, and what types of items they purchase other than regular everyday items.
Here are the questions:
What are your demographics(Age, Location, Own a Home, Co-op, Condo or Rent)?
What are your Values(Things that matter to you in life)?
What are your buying patterns(Types of items you usually purchase outside of everyday items)?
What brands do you identify with?
Answer what you can. You can fm me if you dont want to post anything here....

Are you looking for answers relevant to me as a consumer or as a person or as a parent? I might just be really dense here... but I am stuck on trying to narrow this stuff down. I have a lot of beliefs and a lot of different values...

When marketing surveys are done they usually break it down
age
income
rent/own
type of occupation
then they try to steer you toward the category they are looking to research by asking questions like
"are you planning on buying a new car in the next 12 months?"
As for the beliefs & values part that is so broad, can you put the question into a sentence that helps us to understand the type of specific info you need?

I value my family and friends. I value loyalty.
I buy everything in the house - toiletries/clothes/first aid & medicine/software/toys/books & magazines/household appliances/homegoods (linens, curtains, flatware, stemware, etc..), small electronics, videos.. I buy things on an as needed basis as opposed to a binge buying. I will occassionally buy things based solely on the fact that it is a great bargain - even if I don't need the product.

37, Ridge, Own, Married, Mother of two
What are your Values(Things that matter to you in life)?
Family, friends, the environment.
What are your buying patterns(Types of items you usually purchase outside of everyday items)?
I'm not a "shopper", I don't buy based on what is in or what other people are buying. I buy mostly necessities & if I need to buy a big ticket non-essential item I usually spend a good amount of time researching what I want before I go to the store.
What brands do you identify with?
Brands that try to incorporate green practices into their products or packaging. For example I like to buy work clothes for my DH at Timberland because they are an environmentally friendly company. I also identify strongly with local businesses & will choose to buy their products before shopping at a big box store.

What are your Values(Things that matter to you in life)? My family and husband and trying to do the right thing.
What are your buying patterns(Types of items you usually purchase outside of everyday items)? I tend to buy things either for the house to accessorize and decorate or clothing and shoes.
What brands do you identify with? Coca-Cola, Bounty, Sony, Toyota and/or Hyundai - I tend to buy these brands without question.

3. clothes, shoes, purses
4. banana republic, nine west, coach (i'm assuming you mean brands that are relevant to #3. if i'm incorrect with my interpretation, pls let me know.

For the most part I buy everything from basic household items, electronics, clothes, etc. The only purchases I don't make for the household are musical equipment, which DH buys himself.
