UPDATE-Does anyone have the DC23 Animal canister vacuum?-We bought it

Our Puppy honestly sheds about 2 lbs of fur per day & although I have several vacuums, none are really doing the job as well as I would like.

If you have this Dyson, please tell me your likes & dislikes. We have all wood floors with a few area rugs.

thanks

:update:
We bought this one yesterday

I just finished a top to bottom clean-baseboards, moldings, window sills & all three floors of rooms.
I am very impressed.
I emptied the canister 4 times, it was very easy & I only had to get my handy dirty once which is much better than what it took to change the bags in my old vacuum. I was pleased with how simple it was to empty.

Its amazing on stairs, it can sort of balance on a step unlike my old vacuum that was a back breaker on the stairs.

It manuvers very well, it is easy to get under beds and sofas.

the attachments are easy to use and the hose has a good reach.

Its a little louder than my old vacuum.

so far I'm giving it two thumbs up, I will really be impressed if it continues to run so strong.

Good vac. Do you have wood floors or carpet.

Re: Does anyone have the DC23 Animal canister vacuum?

I have the Dyson Pet and don't know what I would do without it. I have 3 dogs, all shed. I have tile, laminate flooring a few area rugs.

For me the Dyson is the best choice because I love the canister, I could never have a vac with bags with all the shedding, I'd go through a few bags every time I vac'd. And it gets everything out of the carpet. I love the attachment that vac's the furniture too!

Re: Does anyone have the DC23 Animal canister vacuum?

My parents have the older model - i guess its the purple one.

Are your dogs long hair? If so, I wouldnt get te animal. The dogs hair gets wrapped around the bristle wheel and has to be cut off. It is so annoying.

Also, I disagree with the above poster about not wanting bags. I'd rather use bags even if it meant I needed a new bag everydaym becau it keeps the hair and dirt contained. The canister stinks. You go to empty and the dust and hair go flying around in to the air. It is gross and the dog hair gets stuck at the top of the canister and we always have to stick our hand in to losen it.

I have it, I don't have any pets, but I shed like an animal and it works great!

I have a long haired German Shepherd and I don't have this problem. Everyone has their own preference, but I have 3 dogs and I empty the canister at least 3 times every time I vac the whole house, that would be 3 bags every time I vac'd, not cost effective for me. I do wash the canister as well and change the filters so my vac does not stink. I also have a cat that has long hair as well.
