**UPDATE** "As Seen on TV" Dryer Balls - my review
if so, what do you think?
I bought them today at Linens N Things. I have a load in the dryer now... will report back later 
I am very skeptical, yet I'm intrigued!

I have them. They are alright. I was at the home show and saw them do a deminstration on how bad dryer sheets are and bought them on the spot. she took a dryer sheet and wiped it on a mirror IT WAS NASTY all this residue all over the mirror.

what else did they say was bad about dryer sheets?

I don't know much about "dryer balls"...but isn't the same idea as tennis balls in the dryer...it fluffls the clothes around as they spin allowing more air and shorter dry time?

Sounds like a great marketing scheme.
If something is pounding on the clothes, there isn't time for wrinkles to settle. My down comforters come out looking pressed after I dry with the tennis balls.

Tennis balls also make a lot noise. When these things get heated they get soft and don't make noise. im just telling you the facts and you said it sounds like a marketing scheme but they do work.

I'm sure it is a marketing scheme. Isn't everything? But if they don't make noise and don't have the fuzz of tennis balls, it might be better.

so I used them yesterday for the 1st time with a regular load of clothing.
IMO, they didn't come out any "fluffier", but there were very soft. Also, I did not notice that the clothes dried any faster with the dryer balls.
I normally use Downey AND Bounce dryer sheets and didn't use either one yesterday.
I will still use the Bounce sheets in the future (for static control and I love how Bounce leaves my clothes smelling so fresh), but bye bye Downey

I use tennis balls when I wash my down jacket. The only bad thing about it is that now I have flourescent yellow fuzz in the velcro near the zipper
