 I am so sorry to hear that!
my cousin's DH did something very similar and now it's only a matter of time for him  he had a lump in his neck so instead of going to the doctor, he grew a beard and hoped it would go away. he's been batteling cancer for almost 2 years. but by the time he went to the doc, it was so far gone

My mother did the same, she wore turtle neck sweaters to hide them.. Unfortunately by the time my dad noticed it was too late. She passed away one month after admitted to the hospital.

Omg, I'm so sorry!!!!! It's def a generational thing, my great aunt is about that age and refuses to go the doctor bc he might find something. She is also a widow so maybe, like your grandmother, she almost wants to go so they can be together again.
It's sounds like something we'll never understand until we're in that situation. My continued prayers for your grandmother and the rest of your family!!!!
