There are lots of mothers in jail. Why should she be an exception? They are awful people - as the OP said, they didn't consider their children while breaking the law. You can't paint yourself as a victim when you clearly aren't.
I read that she's requesting house arrest.
Do they get to keep their house? I can't see house arrest being a big punishment.
