Holy. Crap.
If this is true.....how could they put those 4 children in jeopardy. I guess money is more important than anything.

'Real Housewives' stars Teresa and Joe Giudice indicted
The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa Giudice and her husband, Giuseppe, were charged Monday with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, as well as illegally obtaining mortgages and hiding assets and income, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced today.
The Towaco couple were charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud, Fishman said.
The charges against Teresa Giudice, 41, and Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice, 43, were outlined in a 39-count indictment a federal grand jury returned Monday, Fishman said.
Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice also faces additional charges for failing to file tax returns from 2004 to 2008, a period during which he earned nearly $1 million.
Conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count, while bank fraud and loan application fraud each carries a penalty of up to 30 years in prison and a fine of $1 million, Fishman said.
Failing to file tax returns carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $100,000 fine.
ETA: Does anyone remember the FIRST "Jersey" episode? The one where Theresa pulls out $120k CASH to pay for the furniture in her house?

Baffles me how people think they can falsify things like W-2's and pay stubs and get away with it!

I am certain that one of the Giudice siblings and/or Joe Gorga would take the girls.
I don't know, I think Joe will likely go and T won't...it makes me sad. I know they aren't perfect or anything but I like them.

You have to be really ... Narcissistic .. To think you can pull all of this off without it being caught.
That's what I always think when I read indictments like this. How do you think you couldn't or wouldn't get caught? It leads me to think you must really believe you're smarter than everyone else. And to lie and cheat and steal when hardworking people make much less and pay their dues ...really shows gross moral character - or none at all.
And to keep going with it - Lying to the DMV... No lessons learned.
I find them likeable like many others. But you do the crime, pay the time. They need to be held accountable.
Still amazes me how people think they can pull one over to this degree.

I agree. I was going to say that this will open up a can of worms for anyone related to them, be it family or business affiliates. One goes down and the spot light continues to search.
I think there is a lot of shady shit when it comes to business, particularly construction and home loans and flipping houses.

Just burns my biscuits, I tell ya. So many people working to the bone and doing everything right and never get a break - and greedy people like this live quite well and still want more.
Yeah. This is why I don't find them likeable. The earlier episodes really show their contempt for "ordinary" people and an inflated, opulent life that they think they deserve. I feel like legitimate people with money typically don't have the contempt for rules/society/others that they do.
I think what needs to happen is a fair process and whatever result would come for anyone else--with no one "getting off."
Lots of former rich folks who thought they were too good for the average folks are now doing hard time for what they did to situate themselves. This is no different from any other fraud/sham.
