UPDATE - I sent an email - A little discouraged - still trying to rescue the 13yr old deaf lab

suzy - she is on petfinder. I am going on a month of trying to meet this dog. I would think they would want to place dogs right away and it would be a qick process.

The woman who runs the rescue NEVER gets back to me. SHe doesnt call when she says she is going to call. I had always had to reach out to her. So I usually pick a date and ask her if we can meet the dog, she then eventually tells me she will check with the foster mom and then just never getd back to me.

Maybe the foster wants to keep her? Chat Icon I dunno. I am just surprised. If she wants to have her dog rescued she needs to do a better job at setting up these meet and greets !

I asked her about tomorrow (the 3rd reschedule) she said she would let me know and still has not gotten back to me!

UPDATE - I sent her this email. I hope it doesnt come over rude or agressive I am just getting frustrated!

Hi Kim,

I have started to look for other pets on petfinder because I am beginning to think that I will never get to meet Suzy. Does the foster mom want to keep her or something? Or maybe you don't think I am a good match?

Denise, that is just weird and not right. You are looking to help a 13 year old deaf dog, which most people would not even consider taking on. I am sorry but she should be replying to you promptly and being honest and upfront with you if she doesn't think you are a good match. Bottom line. But don't give up, get an answer for that dog's sake.

If not, there are so many other dogs that would love to join your family.Chat Icon

First I want to say thank you for what you are trying to do - most people would pass over this dog, either afraid of the care she might need or afraid that she might not have that much time left.

I am so glad there are people like you out there to help these dogs!

It's is a shame that this woman will not get back to you. I know that the woman I was working with was hard to reach and I only had her cell phone which apparently didn't work in her house, so I just left a ton of messages until I finally heard back from her each time.

You can never be too eager when it comes to wanting to give a pet a home!

I hope it works out.
