UPDATE Problem or not

So first thing the dr saw was a small polyp on my cervix which he assumed causenthenspotting. He removed it. Thought that would be it. BUTbthey did a sono and couldnt see anything. No sac
i am supposedly 5w 3d. They think I may have an ectopic or an early miscarriage or maybe just maybe it was too early to see something. Its not looking good. I just pray its not an ectopic. I dont want to have surger y or lose my tube. Please say a prayer
Tia

I had the same at about 6 weeks; some blood in my CM. I did go to the doctor just to be safe and everything was ok. I feel like that's what they're there for; so might as well call and go in.

Re: Problem or not

I know you called the dr already, but I'm going to say it's likely totally normal. Are you cramping at all? Spotting is really common, especially in early pregnancy. And you said you're only seeing strands of blood, so it could be the embryo burying deeper in your lining or your uterus stretching and old blood dislodging.

Just try not to worry b/c I'm sure everything is fine!

Re: Problem or not

I had this problem recently, when I was about 5 weeks. I went to use the bathroom and looked down and saw blood when I wiped it was bright red, I had some cramping, I ended up going to the hospital because they were thinking ectopic. At this point I was too early to even see a sac! I followed up with my dr two days later, we saw a sac. Just went back this Monday, saw a heartbeat, they were able to tell me where the blood was coming from, because I still have occasional blood. Apparently when the baby implanted, it made a little pocket of blood, the sono tech said this is normal, as the sac is getting bigger, it's pushing the blood out, most times the uterus will reabsorb the blood, but sometimes it doesn't. Don't worry!! It may be the same thing!! This is my third, and I never had any spotting with the other two, so it's definitely something that can happen!

Only positive thoughts!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Traces of blood and spotting are common in the first tri. If you are cramping and having AF bleeding, THEN there is something to stress over. I'm sure everything will be perfect and I hope that they give you an early sono. Please keep us updated!!!

Re: Problem or not

good thoughts your way! I had a lot of bleeding early on and really thought LO was not going to make it but we are still doing okay! (knock wood) I know how scary it is, I cried for two days straight and STILL panic a lot when I go to the bathroom but I think bleeding is normal. Hang in there!

Problem or not

I have now gone to the bathroom 4 times since and there is no sign of any blood. If this was a mc would the bleeding be consistent, would it get worse quickly. I also dont feel crampy anymore. I swear to you I felt fine and as soon as I saw that blood I started cramping. Sometimes I think I let my head cause physical symptoms (I have battled anxiety disorder for quite sometime and currently am not on any meds). I think I will still keep my appointment and hope for a sono. Atleast seeing a sac at this point might ease my mind a bit. Thanks for the replys and I will update after my appointment.

Did they take blood to check ur progesterone and HCG? if your HCG isnt in the 3000s they usually dont see anything on the sono. Praying all is ok.

at 5w3d you might not see anything - it doesnt mean theres anything wrong.
that being said make sure they monitor your betas every 48 hours to see what direction they are going in.
i am sorry you are going through this.

I'll be sending prayers your way. I'm not quite sure what you're supposed to see at 5 weeks 3 days but your beta numbers should tell them more...good luck to you!Chat Icon

Re: UPDATE Problem or not

Good luck! Hopefully your numbers will tell the doctors more. And from someone who had an ectopic, if you don't feel right (any pain, etc.) call the doctor immediately.

Re: UPDATE Problem or not

It seems we are in the same exact boat!! I had a sono at 5 weeks, and all they saw was that my uterus was thicker, no sac or anything, that was a Saturday, I went to the OB the following monday, and we saw a sac. My numbers went from 1388 on Saturday, to 4000 on Monday, so we were confident it was okay. I went back the following monday and saw a heartbeat!! Now I am just waiting for the 29th, which will be my "first" appointment.
