umbilical cord question
so when i went to change kaylie's diaper today i saw that there was small amount of blood at the base of her umbilical cord.....I called the ped but he has yet to get back to me....so mommies, is this normal? if so do i leave it alone and watch it or use something like alcohol? suggestions please

Sounds like maybe the dr might have to cortirize it. DD had it too. The dr will prob have you come in.

DD had that problem and it healed on its own. I wouldn't but alcohol on it because it might still be opened and would burn.

see thats what i thought i didnt want to hurt her .....good to know that it healed on its own.....did u do anything when u first saw it?

DD had some blood on hers too... but when i saw it it was dried up already... we left it alone and it was fine...

DS had that. the ped said to NOT put alcohol or anything on it. it went away on its own within a few days
