Um who DOESN'T have central air and
what was your LIPA bill? And for how many months?

No central air, no window units, just ceiling fans. It's just DH and me so that minimizes laundry and lights being on in multiple rooms. We're also concious of turning off lights when not in use. So far this calendar year our average monthly usage has been $106.81 with a high of $120.77 and a low of $88.55. Last year the average as $129.88 and we had a couple of higher months - probably due to erroneous estimated readings followed by an actual reading. I think the highest month last year was $238.

No Central air, but a/c unit in all rooms. Our bill just came and its $423.20!!!! Its bi-monthly billing, but STILL! I almost dropped dead!

2 in wall AC units. ours was only $200 something but it was an estimate. God only knows what it will be next month.

no central air, 3 window units running all day and night and a pool that has been running all month much more then usual because the previous owners didn't take very good care of it ours was $352.
the original bill was $95 but that was an estimated bill, so I tried to go online and enter an actual meter reading so I could pay what we really owe instead of getting hit with another high bill plus the previous months bill next time. everytime i tried to enter the number it said please try your number again it should be whatever thru whatever and mine was over 1000 units higher  eventually it told me to call. the lady was like no honey it can't be that high based on your previous usage... lol I was like yeah we sort of ran a pool and window units all day and night its right
MIL has same size house as us and runs 1 wall unit at night only and a pool, and theirs is usually around $350 so I figured ours would be so much more.
were putting CAC in soon, I wonder if it will go down because it will run better. these window units have the condesor on the entire time, and never go to the fan setting

Last month was around $120. However, 2 weeks ago we got a large window unit to cool off most of the downstairs of our house, so I fear seeing the next bill.

No central air, 2 window AC units and with the last month we had being so hot the bill I just got is $306  It is normally more like $60 when the 2 AC's aren't being used.

We have an a/c unit in every room but the bathrooms. We only run one downstairs when we are home and then we swap that one out for the one in our room. Which is brand spankin new. For two months it was $562 !!!
We have no pool. We do nothing fancy. We did have two BBQs in that time span. Like big family BBQs but we were outside !!! And we had our old a/c in our room for about 20 days of the billing cycle. I almost dropped. It's the highest it's ever been.
I called LIPA and they said that everyone's is high because of how hot it's been....

It was 75! Thats with the pool filter too. In the winter its only about 40. We have quite a large house too. We just don't put lights on ever, lol. All of our appliances are newer, and I only do a wash about once a week.

No CAC and we have 4 window AC's that run constantly.. my house is an ice box lol
We have balanced billing mainly because of that.. our bill is 191$

i have two small window units running and our bill for last month was $130. Our house is like 75 at best though with the two tiny units but its really comfty (ranch house) next bill will be the real bill i think since we haven't stopped running them for a month now.

I am stumped on what we did wrong to make our bill so high !!! I think there were days when we had two running downstairs at night. These are wall units not window... so I don't know if that makes a difference. Then we'd shut those off and run the one in our room. I feel like some weekends we ran four at one time but it's not an every day occurence. The majority of our appliances are new. So I don't get it... ugh.... If I was on balanced billing it says it would be $206.00 a month. I am just worried to go on that...

2 month billing cycle. We have 1 unit that turns on and off on energy saver, and 2 other units we turn on as needed, 1 fan, inground sprinklers, mostly new appliances, laundry 1x a week. Our bill was $458.00!!!! YIKES!
ETA I think LIPA raises rates in the warmer weather! 
We have AQUA water not looking forward to that bill either!

no we have oil. our oil bill is about 1200 a year.
