uh oh, my husband is sick
Question: My honey is sick and I always get sick when he does because my immune system is sooo weak! But I feel great, other than battling exhaustion and m/s.
Do you think it's because of all the vitamins in the prenatal? Or maybe because I'm getting a lot of sleep and tons of water?
I'm also nervous about when the school year starts because of mutant kid germs! Do women take antibiotics while pregnant?
TIA

Just take the precautions to try and not get sick. No , no sharing drinks/forks, frequent hand washing. And like you said, all of the above helps! Sleep, vitamins, and hydration! If you get sick from a bacterial infection and need antibiotics, yes you will *need* them. Otherwise, little rugrats mainly carry viruses like colds. But strep or if you develop a sinus infection, just see your PCP! Good luck and feel better to the hubs!

Re: uh oh, my husband is sick
Aww, I hope you don't get sick. Pregnancy is uncomfortable enough!
I had a heck of a bad cold when I was about 10 weeks pregnant. Even ran a fever of 100.4. It was fine, no harm done to the baby. Preggos actually get sick more than "normal" women because our immune systems shut down a little, so as to not view the baby as a threat. It's annoying but common. My OB told me to take Tylenol, and the fever went right down. Trying to sleep with all that coughing, sneezing, and hourly bathroom trips, that was another story.
Oh, and sure, there are antibiotics you can take if you get a sinus infection or something. Any doctor or pharmacist should know which ones you can and which you can't. But a cold is viral so antibiotics wouldn't work on it.
ETA: I'm a teacher too, and that one cold was the only one I got during the school year. I think you're right about the rest, water, healthy diet, and vitamins. Now if only I could just continue that for the rest of my life...
