ughhhh... gyno office vent!

Let me begin by saying that I was VERY busy at work this week and between Tuesday and Wednesday was in the building for a grand total of 26 hours (I'm a teacher- hours like that are normally unthinkable!)

So, today I get out of work and tired as I am (I'm on CD1 today and the first day always drains me) ..... I decided to take a trip out to my OB's office to pick up samples of various prenatal vitamins (mine have been giving me a nasty upset stomach) ..........

I sat in close to 2 hours of traffic (normally it would just take around 50 mins to get there from where I work) I get there, and told them at the desk that I was there to pick up samples and immediately a nurse goes into a drawer, grabs a sample, and brings it to me. I asked if I could have a sample of a few others just in case I have a problem with them, and she looked at me like I asked her something unreasonable and this was the rest of the convo:

nurse: I am VERY busy and you will have to either wait at least 30 mins or come back later.

me: Really? Just to get some vitamins?

nurse: I am VERY busy, you came during office hours (I didn't know what to make of that comment- was I supposed to come when they didn't have office hours? When the doors are locked? I guess that way I could break the door down and get the vitamins MUCH faster than she was willing to give them to me )

me: Ok, I guess I'll just have to wait then.

nurse: Ok, but just remember it will be a while

Ugh, so I stood around and after a few minutes asked the person at the desk if there was anyone else who could get the viramins for me. She said no. So weird....... they're just stupid vitamins!

A few minutes later this AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL nurse comes out with a handful of samples and answered all my questions, and was the sweetest nurse I have ever met.

This just bugged me so much. I go out of my way for people all the time and don't complain about it! I'm not saying this makes me any more deserving of this woman's time but seriously- literally 3 minutes of her time would have eliminated ALL of that frustration! Seriously, how LAZY can you possibly be??!?! I just hope this isn't a sample of what I have to look forward to for 9 months!

Sorry this is so long- but venting helped. Can you tell I was more than just a little pi$$ed?

Wowwwwwwww Im so sorry you had to deal with that!!! Ewwwwwww if I was pregnant and she talked to me like that... I would of chewed her head off and spit it out

But seriously I cant believe some people!!! And yes, they ARE LAZY and they treat people like c rap b/c they are miserable and hate their job!

I hope you have a better experience with this place in the future, if not I would look for another place where you are treated right.

I go to a place in RVC...are you far from there? The nurses are soooooo nice when you walk in and I appreciate that. Let me know if you'd be interested in going there

you should consider writing a letter to your dr about your experience. I left my last gynos office even thought i loved the dr b/c the staff was terrible.
