Ughh postpartum hair loss

Holy crow it is ridiculous tonight! It is bad enough that I look like I am balding at my temples. Now I just ran my hand through my hair and got this MAJOR clump of hair. It is ridiculous!!

Re: Ughh postpartum hair loss

I had this really bad as well and at my 6wk check up they ran my thyroid, I already have hypothyroidism, and it was WAY off. I would call and ask them to check. I know it's normal, but it really shouldn't be that excessive. I also notice when my thyroid is off my skin gets REALLY dry and i'm tired. I know you're a new mommy, but I mean like can not get enough sleep to make it feel like it's even worth it exhausted.

I didn't lose a single strand during my pregnancy and then after I was likeChat Icon Chat Icon!!! I lost a ton for almost 8 mos, then it seemed normal again. I think its your body releasing the pregnancy hormones.

I'm loosing handfuls every shower. I know it's normal but it's disturbing too.

And it tickles like crazy. I'm constantly fishing for loose strands on my clothes, in bed, on the cat...

It's insane. My hair is all over the house. It seems to be slowing down for me (I'm 6 1/2 months pp) but a dermatologist told me I might see more when I'm done nursing.
Your follicles go into the resting phase during pregnancy. Once they return to active, all the hair that would've been shed during that time comes out.

I swear anyone who will give me the time of day..I will go on and on about this my hair is gross beyond gross...this second pregnancy did my hair in..I started loosing my hair with both pregnancy at 4 months ...I'm almost 10 months pp and it is still falling out in clumps...I had great hair..it was so nice either curly or straight..now it looks like a lovely bale of hay on my head..oh and the new hair that is growing is just so lovely when I pull my hair all the way back....it is GROSS! I miss my hair...now it is just very unruly and just horrible!
