Ugh! Do parents at school have anything better to do?
We have a group of mom's that are always at school - ALL THE TIME.... well, they heard that a 5th grade teacher was leaving, so they were GRILLING the woman at the front desk for gossip... when another 5th grade teacher walked by...
They said "Oh, we heard a fifth grade teacher was leaving"
And she said, "Yeah, Debra H."
Nosey parents: "Oh? Why"
Teacher: Because her husband needed to get an internship and there weren't any in this area, so they have to move up to Northern VA.
Nosey parents, "Oh."
GAH - Seriously?!?! Don't they have anything better to do then to grill for gossip about teachers?
I should have told anyone who was asking that I had to leave since I was having an affair with one of the administrators and was now 6th months pregnant with our love child.

At least now i know it's the same everywhere
The woman at the front desk said there were there for several minutes trying to pump her for information
I thought it was because of the whole small town atomsphere

I have the small town school also!! Many of the mothers are paralegals at my school for the elementary and middle schools. They think they know everything because they work there!! Overwhelming parents are stinky!

 It would be so great if we could tell parents to Go TO H E LL! We just work there; our private life is none of your business.

Oh, last year mine wanted to know all about where my wedding was etc. I couldn't NOT tell my fellow faculty members but some of the staff (who are also parents in the district) are so nosey. Sounds horrible but I lied about the date and place to a few people. I didn't eant my high school students crashing my catering hall
