two questions please
1. can you have multiple cysts on your ovaries but not have PCOS?
and
2. when you took the clomid, did anyone experience side effects right away or after you took the last pill? my dr said i must be super sensitive if i was feeling some pinchy-twinges and have some nausea.
my first sono is on saturday to see how the ovaries look.

Re: two questions please
I don't know the answer to your first question, but with Clomid I typically feel the s/e while taking the pills (and they are so mild...a hot flash here or there and maybe some dry mouth). Last cycle, between the last pill and O I had one regular headache and one raging headache, but I can't say that was the Clomid. Hope you are feeling better now!

Re: two questions please
What kinds of cysts are you talking about? You can have the big painful kind and not have PCOS - PCOS is usually very small ones that line up on the edges of the ovaries.
I can't answer you clomid question, I haven't taken it yet.

Re: two questions please
when i had my day 3 sono, my left ovary had a bunch of little cysts all over it. when the PA said this is your left ovary i asked why are there all these little things on it she said they are cysts. so i asked dr brenner he said you could be cystic but you do not fit into PCOS. so thats why i was asking what it would mean if you had little cysts.

Re: two questions please
I have Polycystic Ovaries but not PCOS. It's weird...I did IVF and had alot of eggs because of the polycystic ovaries. However, my bloodwork came back normal and I always got AF on time (so in other words no other symptoms of PCOS other than the polycystic ovaries) Confusing I know.

Re: two questions please
I have PCOS but my only symptoms are no ovulation/periods and cystic ovaries. My bloodwork, glucose tests, etc. all came back normal. Don't know if this helps...

Re: two questions please
PCOS is usually seen on the sonograms as small "pearls" all over the ovary. A cyst or cysts would show bigger, almost like follies but too early in the cycle.
The only side effects I ever had from Clomid were the hot flashes and they started after the second or third day I was taking Clomid almost up until ovulation. After ovulation the hot flashes seemed to go away.
