TV over fireplace?
We have a fireplace in our LR - honestly, I don't think we will EVER use it. DH isn't home enough and I know myself, I wouldn't start it without him. My questions are
A) Do you have your TV over your fireplace (if you have a fireplace)?
B) Do you use your fireplace with it up there?
C) Can you share a picture of it with me?
TIA

We only have one living room now- our formal living room upstairs we are changing into a diningroom (since we could use a larger diningroom than 2 LRs)...
I am at a loss of where to put the TV unless we get a short accent type stand for it to sit on...

Here is the room - it has the previous owner's furniture and decor inside. TIA

C) Can you share a picture of it with me?
TIA
You can see a few on Google image... Although I'm not a fan of this look...

Thanks - I am thinking if it just doesn't flow in the room - I may get one of these for next to the fireplace..
Something along these lines - not this exactly, but just to give you an idea...

Re: TV over fireplace?
We have our tv over the fireplace. It was my husband's idea, and I was totally against it and fought him for months. Then I realized that we don't have a formal living room and we spend most of our time in there, so we put it up. It's actually pretty great. Anyone in the room can see it, and it doesn't take up any floor space. We use the fireplace all the time in the winter and have never had a problem. I have to see if I can find a picture....

Re: TV over fireplace?
Our new LR is not that dissimilar to yours (including the brick on the FP) and we're putting it on a TV stand kitty corned on the corner of the wall to the left of the FP. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the TV over the FP.

Re: TV over fireplace?
I wasn't a fan of tv over fireplace, I wanted ours on a sideboard or buffet.
I am not a fanentertainment centers at all either.
But in our house the living room is built to have TV over fireplace, or we would have an empty hole over fireplace.
its growing on me, its a very clean look.
since the spot is bigger then the TV, we are putting a shelf in, just have to buy more paint
then we will put dvr and dvd under that, it will lift TV to a central position.
the wall to left...we are in a slight argument. he wants a bench, I want a sideboard.
