TV-need or want?
I go on another website and 99% of the people think a TV is a want. The reason I ask is because our TV died and we had to buy a new one and did not have the money so we put it on our cc and these are very frugal people who, some, don't ever use cc's. My answer: a need for us because we watch alot of TV and don't have the money to do alot of things so we stay home.

Realistically, in this day and age, I don't consider a TV a luxury item. Small one can be bought very cheaply!

Re: TV-need or want?
Its a want I think, but I agree that cmon, how many of us could live 100% of the time without one? I would borrow to buy one if ours broke, for news, traffic and weather alone ya know?

Re: TV-need or want?
I find a TV to be a "need" You don't have to go out and buy a plasma, but a TV is definitely a neccessity in our house. We've got on in the living room, one in the office and one in the bedrrom. The only room that doesn't have one is the guest room, but we don't often have guests.

I am glad that you guys agree with me. Sometimes I feel like I am the odd one out! I think these other women are just a little "out there" sometimes with how they live. Not that I don't think not watching alot of TV is weird but some of think it is the most evil thing.

Re: TV-need or want?
TV is such a need for me. But for DH it is a want. I love watching TV and have it on all day long whether or not I am sitting in front of it. It is just something that I love!

Re: TV-need or want?
I am going to respectfully disagree. I think it is a want, because I define needs as things that one cannot live without. I have lived without a TV during different periods of time. I found that I did a lot of other things and was much more productive without having the TV on all the time.
I do have one now
