Tulips

My tulips came up this year, but with no buds, why?

Same thing happened with a few of my tulips and all but one of my dafodils. I'm assuming its because the ground never really froze so they didn't have a normal "cycle"

tulips need a wintering in order to bloom correctly. I only had a few tulips come up this year and bloom so next year if we have an actual winter they will come back.

In the south they have to pull the tulips up and refrigerate them and then replant in order to get the blooms.

Another thing is some tulips are not perennials, meaning they only get one bloom and then the bulb is not adequate for any additional but only sends up stalks.

Really?? I never knew that, they came up the past 2 springs, I will have to look for this disclaimer upon furture bulb purchases
