TTCer question- If you got pregnant under the care of a Doctor

Why did your doctor think you may have been infertile? (Pcos, Endo, Male Factor, etc)?

What method worked for you in the end (Clomid, IUI, IVF)?

How many months since seeing your RE did it take for you get pregnant?

Thanks ladies..

My issue was my eggs. They were not maturing on there own. I was producing 2 or 3 on my own but they were not going past 15mm I think.

1st cycle with the RE we did femara. The eggs didn't fully develope. No iui.
2nd cycle I had a cyst so I couldn't take meds. 1 follie matured. We did iui but it didn't work.
3rd cycle, we did femara and follitism. Had 2 very mature follies and I am now 22 weeks pregnant with twins.

Re: TTCer question- If you got pregnant under the care of a Doctor

Well, my doctor didn't think I was infertile. However after trying for 13 months I couldn't take the let down anymore so I sought an RE.

IUI worked for us. We had unexplained IF.

My 1st try at IUI worked so I guess I saw the RE for 2 months. The 1st month was for testing and the 2nd month for the IUI.

Re: TTCer question- If you got pregnant under the care of a Doctor

I have PCOS and poor egg quality (I'm also 39).

DH had 0% morphology.

With DC #1 we were with the RE for 10 months before I got pregnant (we had been already trying for just over a year before seeing the RE).

I had 5 IUI's and 2 IVFs (1st IVF ended in a miscarriage)

DC#2 I got pregnant via FET (frozen embryo transfer) after we had been back at the RE for 3 months.

Re: TTCer question- If you got pregnant under the care of a Doctor

I went to my OB with concerns after ttc for a year. I had some irregular bleeding, so he sent me for some tests. It came back that my tubes were blocked with polyps. He tried me on Clomid, estrogen and progesterone. That was the biggest mistake I made. I should have gone to the RE right away. My OB wasn't monitoring me on the Clomid and told me that I would likely have to go through IVF because the polyps were so high up in my tubes.

I went to see the RE after one Clomid cycle. He did surgery and removed most of the polyps. I was then put on Femara and Ovidrel and got pg with twins on my second cycle. I was with my RE for a total or 4 months before I got pg.

Re: TTCer question- If you got pregnant under the care of a Doctor

I've had PCOS since I was a teen, so when it came time to go off of BCP and TTC, I knew I would have some difficulty. I don't ovulate on my own, so we went to an RE for assistance. I got my BFP after my first cycle on Gonal-F injections and IUI.

Re: TTCer question- If you got pregnant under the care of a Doctor

I have PCOS - I don't ovulate on my own.
The first time, it took a year and a half to get pregnant. I wasted a year with two OBs and then it took 6 months with the RE. I got pregnant with clomid, trigger, and IUI.

This time, I went straight to the RE and got pregnant the first cycle. (same protocol as the last time, except we lowered the clomid from 150 to 100 mg to try and avoid multiples again).

Re: TTCer question- If you got pregnant under the care of a Doctor

I have egg quality issues. For DS, I saw 1 RE for 10 months before I got PG with my DS (I did get PG 2 months earlier but MC's). We tried for about 9 months on our own prior to seeing the RE. I had 5 failed IUIs. Ultimately, IVF worked for us.

For this PG, I was very fortunate and did not need to see an RE.

My regular OB discovered that I had low progesterone. I got pregnant on my second cycle of clomid.

I also knew since I was a teen so I didn't waste much time once I went off the pill. Once I started seeing the RE it took 3 medicated IUI cycles with femara and gonal-f injections. I got pregnant with one baby but had a loss at 4 1/2 months though TOTALLY unrelated to the fertility drugs!

We're trying again very soon with the exact same protocol.

Re: TTCer question- If you got pregnant under the care of a Doctor

I had multiple miscarriages.
Chromosome translocation
MTHFR, elevated NK cells.
Did 2 failed IVF cycles and was going to do a frozen embryo transfer but none of my embies survived.
I was just about to give up and was looking into donor egg when DH and I got pregnant on our own.
It all took about a year and a half.
