TTC, DH and hot tubs
I am desperately trying to keep my DH away from hot tubs/whirlpools-is there any truth to the notion that his sperm count will be practically nothing from 10 minutes in a hot tub? And are there limitations that anyone knows to a TTC woman going into a hot tub? TIA!

Re: TTC, DH and hot tubs
Dh should definitely be avoiding hot tubs while you're TTC!
They can affect both the quantity and quality of the sperm. Developing sperm can be damaged and they may not mature for several months, which means the effect on sperm quality can be a potential problem. Count will only be affected for a short amount of time. But in any case, why risk it?
It's probably okay in moderation, but I'd just cut it out completely!
Not sure about for women, but you definitely can't go in while you're pregnant - so I'd probably stay out after ovulation.

Def no hot tub for your husband! I have not heard of a hot tubs affecting the changes of a woman getting pregnant. If it was me, I would not use a hot tub since I would not want DH to.

Re: TTC, DH and hot tubs
stay away at least for the time being. all i know is that when we had to transport DH's sample for the sa test and we didnt have the warming pack..and the lab said to use a hot water bottle (which we didnt have) so we let the specimen container float in a tupperware of warm water..
yeah..his motility went to 0. super high count but not swimming. we fried the poor guys.
(and later on when we got the bill from the hospital for this test we explained to the manager the instructions we got from someone there, and they waived the $100 fee. she couldnt believe someone gave us those instructions!!! )
