TTC and Dieting/Exercise
My the numbers on my scale are increasing due to the fact that i have not been really watching what i have been eating. Is it ok to diet (or look to lose) while TTC? Tomorrow is the first day of my 2WW and hopefully this ends well so i dont know what to do. I do know that i do not want to gain anymore weight especially if this month ends in BFN... What do you gals think?

Re: TTC and Dieting/Exercise
The rule is-- if you lose weight too fast, it can throw your cycle off. I am in the same boat as you! I am not overweight at all but my belly has been a bit floppy lately along with back flab. When I was preg with DS, I was a skinny twig and had no stretch marks but high BP and I am so scared that now with more weight on me, I will have more issues. I was told you can set up a new exercise regime while TTC but when you are preg, you can not. I would just start trying to eat better daily. I have been using the Myfitnesspal app to track what I am eating and it pushes me to drink more water and eat healthier. Good luck and I hope you get your BFP!!!

Re: TTC and Dieting/Exercise
Dieting and exercise is completely fine while TTC, but I wouldn't do anything drastic like take dieting pills. I think incorporating healthier meals and watching calorie intake should do the trick. It's even okay to exercise while pregnant as long as you don't have any complications that prevents it!
Ideally I would like to lose a few pounds before getting pregnant too, but I've been so lazy!

You girls are good! I can't possibly think about dieting now. I mean what if I get a BFP and I can't have a relaxing glass of wine, or 2, or 3 for another 9 months. I'm enjoying my diet of sushi, cheese, wine, red meat, etc.

Oh no, don't follow my advice, lol!
In general, I'm a pretty good eater. I usually have a protein with veg, and I don't eat too many carbs (with the exception of wine!). I'm not a big sweets person, so that helps. I also don't have a car and walk or ride my bike everywhere. I follow that, and I keep my weight in check. Sure I would love to lose 15, but I'm happy.

My RE said exercise is fine. I gained like 5 obs over the holidays so I'm trying to drop it slowly. Good luck.

Re: TTC and Dieting/Exercise
As long as it's nothing drastic I think it's a great idea to get into a healthy routine before you get a BFP.
Just talk to your dr about your exercise routine once you do get pregnant to make sure it's ok.
I know of people who continued to lose weight well into their first trimester safely (granted, they were overweight to begin with and the dr was monitoring them).
